Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Centinela mobile application and related services (the "Service"), operated by Centinela LLC ("Centinela", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

01 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Centinela. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

02 What Centinela is — and is not

Alerts are user-generated and community-verified. We do not independently verify every report and are not responsible for decisions you make based on information in the Service.

03 Your account

• You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current.
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use at support@getcentinela.app.

04 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fabricated alerts or reports.
• Harass, threaten, defame, or endanger any person, or incite violence.
• Post unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable content.
• Upload advertising, spam, QR codes, or promotional content in reports or chats.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Interfere with, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
• Use the Service to violate any applicable law or third-party right.

05 User content & license

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant Centinela a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content within the Service for the purpose of operating and improving it (including showing alerts and chats to other users). You represent that you have the rights to the content you submit.

06 Moderation, reputation & sanctions

To keep the network trustworthy, we operate moderation, reputation, and sanction systems:

• Content may be reviewed by automated systems (including AI) and human moderators, and may be hidden or removed.
• Your reputation may rise or fall based on confirmed-true reports, upheld or dismissed reports, and removed content.
• We may issue warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans for violations. Thresholds and durations are applied at our discretion and may be automated.
• You may submit one appeal per sanction; decisions are made within a reasonable time.

07 Subscriptions & payments

Centinela offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription. Subscriptions are billed through the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) and auto-renew until canceled. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your app-store account settings. Prices may change with notice. Except where required by law or store policy, payments are non-refundable.

08 Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, and trademarks, is owned by Centinela and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding.

09 Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that alerts are accurate or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10 Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CENTINELA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON INFORMATION IN THE SERVICE. Our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or USD 50.

11 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Centinela from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

12 Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

13 Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Centinela LLC is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.

14 Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
